We have undertaken a range of projects. For small clients, large utilities and governments. Our work has taken us around the world with particular expertise in the exciting new African energy markets that are opening up and deregulating.
01 New Entrant Power Trader in Africa
We worked closely with the management team of a new power trader focusing on renewable energy in Sub Saharan Africa. The brief was to guide their strategy, design and build their bespoke ETRM system, develop their operational structure, develop a market leading sophisticated analytics solution. Then implement all these aspects across front, middle and back-office to include training and delivering an interactive policies and procedures manual.
They are now operational and rapidly growing their business.
02 West African Carbon Project
We assisted the government and state owned power company of a West African country to identify opportunities for reducing CO2 emissions and generate valuable carbon credits. Additionally our guidance will help them once the West African Power Pool launches.
03 Commodity Trader Global Data Repository
Implemented single source of truth datawarehouse solution to support global risk management and financial reporting. Aggregation of data from 18 worldwide country offices on a daily basis. Designed and implemented daily market, credit and operational risk reports as well as FX exposure, PnL explanation, controlling, regulatory and management reporting tools
04 Indian Power Sector
Analysis and identification of potential business opportunities and corporate strategy in the Indian power sector for the CEO of a large European utility/generator with international growth plans.
Scope covered both thermal and solar PV and merchant trading activities.
05 Waste-to-Energy Project
Planning and leading the international expansion of a European Waste-to-Energy EPC company. Developed the business concept with initial focus in North America and subsequent growth to other locations worldwide. Identified and evaluated prospective projects, working with EPCM contractors and financiers.
06 Commodity Process re-engineering
Re-engineered trade initiation to financial reporting process for global commodity trader making significant cost and efficiency gains and ensuring necessary controls and segregation of duty were implemented
07 European Commodity Prop Trading Desk
We provided an analysis of alternatives and recommended solutions to implement a remuneration scheme for prop traders that ensured alignment with the company's objectives and competitively remunerated traders for their performance.
08 Oil Trading New Entrant
Strategic and operational advice to a niche new-entrant within physical commodity trading and infrastructure project development. Responsibilities comprised formulating strategy, corporate structure, set-up, procedures, financing solutions, shipping/logistics, negotiations with potential financiers, suppliers and off-takers.
